Look at the stars

I wrote a little... something, not really sure what is it but it contains my favorite (current) James Blunt lyrics and thought I might as well post it.

"Look at the stars"

It was a beautiful night
but she knew what was coming
he was coming to get her
She has been through this before
She knows how self-destructive she is acting
but she has never denied him
She feels a presence in the room
he is here, she should run
but she freezes
he softly calls her name
the call in full of promises
promises that will never become reality
and she knows this, why doesn't she run?
Perhaps she enjoys the momentary bliss
his bliss inducing lies
Again he calls, louder now
she turns toward the voice and slowly
makes her way toward him
She feels his icy cold fingers run down her spine
maybe next time she'll find the strength to run

"Look at that stars. fall. down.
and wonder where did I go wrong"

  1. Often, people are in situtations where they feel they cannot run. Sometimes it is a situation that was brought upon them by their hand or another. Or, sometimes the situation swipes them in the back of the head and they fall so deeply they cannot remember where the light was.

There is always hope though; if it is ever truly snuffed, I think the darkness would have won.

    This cannot be.

Whatever path that we are led down, or walk down by our own, there is always a way out.

I like how there is hope. All is not lost. Even with wondering where one went wrong, there is this moment where you can look at the stars, look at the light, and get out.
